Queen Margaret’s has created the study centre as a place for students to work, collaborate and prepare for the modern workplace environment. As well as having a breakout room for meetings, Sixth Formers are able to work together around a board table, hot-desk, access individual learning pods, relax on sofas as they take a break from their studies, and enjoy refreshments. There is a variety of workspaces to suit different learning styles.
The school offers 30 different courses of study in the Sixth Form, ranging from Photography to Psychology, Politics to Computer Science, and Music to Mathematics. The development of the new Sixth Form study centre was made possible thanks to the generosity of pupils’ parents.
The study centre is named after the school’s Upper Sixth class of 2022 who had a vision of a new workspace to better suit their pattern of day-to-day learning. The class of 2022 were at the vanguard of huge changes to learning during the Covid-19 pandemic and the cancellation of their GCSEs.
