All teachers, and all teaching communities, will encounter bereavement. Whether it is the death of a pupil, relative or member of staff it will fall to us to respond, support and monitor young people as they come to terms with grief.

In this webinar, Jules Oakshett (psychotherapist, coach and bereavement consultant) from Grief Wise Schools will talk about the importance of preparing for death in school communities. We can’t prevent tragedies from taking place, but we can have the difficult conversations, put in place the policies and procedures, and ensure that our schools are trauma-informed.

With experience managing death and critical incidents in schools, Helen and Jules are passionate about empowering school leaders to start the early-intervention, preventative work that will protect schools at times of crisis and make it possible for children to learn that it is possible to survive and thrive beyond grief.
