Girls into Physics – Online with Royal Holloway University
The Smallpeice Trust is offering this online course with Royal Holloway University for just 50 Year 11 girls 9.30am-4.30pm on Friday 30 October via Google Meet. Early booking is advised. Girls will spend a day discovering the world-class research that takes place in the Physics Department at Royal Holloway. They will learn about some of the techniques used to discover new particles like the Higgs Boson, enjoy a presentation about quantum phenomena in extremely low temperatures, discover how researchers are trying to find out what dark matter is made of, have the opportunity to put questions to the team of friendly academics and students, and even get hands-on with experiments (kits will be posted to participants in advance). £50 per student.
