Cranford House is situated on the Oxfordshire-Berkshire border. Cranford House continues to enjoy a growing national reputation for excellence as one of the UK’s leading small independent day schools.
We offer a vibrant education to girls and boys aged 2-18. Rated ‘Excellent’ in all categories, our school specialises in academic achievement, outstanding pastoral care and extra-curricular opportunities for all.
We have an excellent reputation for providing pupils with a balanced, all-round education within a warmly nurturing environment. Set in over 14 acres of rural South Oxfordshire, our aim is to encourage pupils to achieve their full potential, becoming motivated, confident and happy individuals, recognising the importance of respect and support for others, but ready to seize life’s opportunities.
The Junior School balances traditional academic skills with the enquiry-based approach of Science, Design Technology and Computing. Juniors benefit from Senior School facilities. Our results are consistently very good. Responsibility is offered at a young age through posts such as Heads of Junior School and Junior House Captains.
In our Senior School, pupils follow a common core curriculum, before choosing their GCSE subjects. Despite our non-selective status, the academic ambition we foster in our pupils has led to Cranford House being ranked in the Top 5 schools in Oxfordshire for our GCSE results. What’s more, we are the only non-selective school within that Top 5. Our pupils belong to a vibrant House system and, on reaching Year 11, enjoy further positions of responsibility and privilege.
September 2020 a new purpose built Sixth Form Centre will open its doors to Year 12 students offering a broad curriculum of A-levels, Enrichment Programme and Careers Centre.
Our superb extra-curricular provision delivers a wealth of enriching opportunities to students right across the school and pupils have the opportunity to join educational trips, expeditions and excursions. Our own School Minibus service operates over a wide area.
Scholarships and Bursaries are offered for Year 7 and 12 entry to the school – please see our website for more details.
