Halstead is a warm, welcoming, unique and successful Independent School for Girls aged from two to eleven which provides high quality education within a caring and considerate family environment.
At Halstead we believe that a high standard of education, when delivered by quality teaching, ignites the love and passion for learning that will be with Halstead girls for life. We provide a well-rounded education that taps into each girl’s natural curiosity and creativity whilst challenging and stimulating them at every opportunity.
A Halstead education also provides the opportunity for music, art, dance, sports and a wide range of enriching co-curricular activities which one would expect from an outstanding prep school. Whilst we actively encourage individuality, there are several common traits of a Halstead Girl – they are bright, sparky, passionate, fun-loving, kind, caring, curious, confident, resourceful, resilient and well-rounded.
All of us at Halstead are very proud of our history which dates to 1927, but we are also a modern, forward thinking school which embraces education and the changing landscape of our community. Halstead is a dynamic, unique and exciting place to learn.
In our opinion a single sex school has many advantages; it allows girls to just be themselves for longer and to develop their individual abilities, interests and talents without any stereotypical influence. We provide rigorous and inspirational teaching which harnesses the girls’ interests in a safe, nurturing and encouraging environment.
Our girls move on to many of the high achieving and quality senior schools in the local area. However, what is most important for them is that they move on to the right school which will allow them to continue to flourish and build on the strong foundations established at Halstead.
Please do come and visit us, we would be delighted to welcome you to our ‘hidden gem’ in Woking.
