The Kingsley School in Royal Leamington Spa is fast becoming the girls’ school of choice for parents who value educational excellence in a caring environment where individual needs are recognised and catered for. Academic achievement is an important part of school life but this isn’t the only aspect of a Kingsley education that is valued; the Kingsley ethos is one which educates girls to be well mannered, well rounded AND well qualified. A wide range of musical, dramatic and sporting successes are equally celebrated and the opportunity to shine in these activities provides girls with a challenging but balanced education. Kingsley accepts girls from 3 to 18 and boys 3 to 11 years old.

A former student recently wrote “At The Kingsley School you are a name not a number”.
This girl joined the Prep School as a shy child with dyslexia who had been bullied at her previous school. Her academic ability and self-confidence grew during her time in Prep, Senior School and Sixth Form; she was eventually appointed Head Girl, passed her A Levels with straight As and is now studying Theology at Durham University.
There are many examples of capable and confident young women such as this who are the product of a unique Kingsley education.

Gifted & Talented

The Minerva Programme identifies gifted, talented and able students to help them recognise and benefit from their special ability. The programme extends to all areas of school life and there are hundreds of opportunities every year for extension and enrichment – from Mandarin and Ancient Greek to musical ensembles, choirs, elite sports teams, art and poetry competitions and specialist science workshops. The Minerva programme recognises potential, provides opportunities, nurtures talent and celebrates excellence.

The Academic and Learning Support Team provide support to students across the age and ability range. This includes specialist tuition for those with SpLD; support for students in small groups for literacy and numeracy; study skills advice and liaison with other professionals and outside agencies. The team of four includes specialist teachers and experienced learning support assistants who are all dedicated to helping all students fulfil their potential. EAL tuition is also available.

Bursaries & Scholarships

Scholarships for excellence are available to both current students and those joining The Kingsley School. They are offered in the following areas:

  • Entry into Year 3 – academic.
  • Entry into Year 7 – academic, art, drama, music and sport.
  • Sixth Form – major and subject scholarships.

The bursary scheme aims to support families who might otherwise be unable to send their child to The Kingsley School and is based primarily on total household income. Kingsley offers a number of limited means tested bursaries. Further details are available from the school’s finance office.
