The Marist Schoolupcoming open day (click for details)
The Marist School is an independent Catholic day school for girls aged 2½ – 18 years. Founded over 70 years ago, The Marist welcomes all Christians and those supporting the school’s ethos.
The school is situated within 55 acres of woodland on a campus in the village of Sunninghill in Berkshire. This enables pupils to enjoy their childhood in the company of the same teachers and friends as they progress from the Preparatory School through to the Senior School.
The original buildings combine with modern facilities to create a unique, safe, natural environment for the school. The most recent developments to the school site during summer 2016 include the addition of All Weather Astro Pitch, a new Early Years Sensory Garden with outdoor Willow Dome Classroom, a Ceramic Studio with kiln, Darkroom, Music Technology Classroom, new Learning Resources Centre and a brand new All-purpose Sports Hall and Fitness Suite.
The Prep School offers an excellent education in an atmosphere that it friendly, lively, incredibly caring and most importantly fun. The nursery provides a supportive and nurturing environment where exploration and creativity are encouraged for girls taking those all-important first steps in their schooling. There is an abundance of extra-curricular clubs on offer to the girls and after school facilities are available.
Marist girls achieve consistently high academic results in their public examinations, year on year. In 2016, 86% of students received all A* – C grades at A level with 100% of Medical applicants secured a place at their chosen Medical School. At GCSE, 61% of exams taken were passed at A* to A, with 100% pass rate across the board. The students each averaged 11, GCSEs A* to C. This culture of success and excellence puts The Marist amongst the highest ranking schools in the country and allows our Sixth Formers to progress on to higher education in Russell Group Universities, Universities abroad and within the UK. The school also enjoys an outstanding reputation for sport, drama, music and the creative arts.
