Students at Prior’s Field are celebrating the school’s strongest A-Level results since 2022, with an exceptional quarter of all grades awarded at A*.

Almost 50% of all grades were awarded at A*–A and 76% at A*–B – an outstanding achievement for Prior’s Field as a non-selective Sixth Form

Alongside these headline results, Prior’s Field achieved an average Value-Added score of 1.8, demonstrating the significant progress students make through the school’s highly individual approach to teaching, challenge and support.

Every girl in this year’s cohort has also secured her first-choice destination, with students progressing to leading universities including UCL, Edinburgh, Bath, York, Exeter and Loughborough, as well as specialist conservatoires, creative institutions and individual career pathways.

Together, the results and destinations celebrate a Sixth Form community in which academic ambition, creativity and individuality are encouraged, and every girl is supported to discover and pursue her own path

Individualised Support Drives Academic Success

Students achieved exceptional results across both academic and creative subjects. 100% of grades awarded in EPQ, Biology, French and Textiles were A*, while 100% of grades in Religious Studies and Economics were A*–A. In History, 75% of students achieved A* or A.

The strength of the school’s individual approach is also reflected in the achievements of students receiving SEND support, with almost 50% of their A-Level grades awarded at A*–A.

Having been at Prior’s Field throughout her secondary education, April was one of this year’s highest achievers, securing three A* grades and an A in History, English, French and Economics respectively. She will take up her first-choice place at University College London (UCL) to study International Social and Political Studies.

“Her exceptional academic performance, intellectual curiosity and rigorous work ethic distinguish her as one of the most capable students I have had the privilege of teaching in eleven years. Her love of reading enabled her to develop the depth of thought, analysis and independence that allowed her to excel across multiple disciplines.”

Sam Garvey, Director of Studies and Teacher of History

Academic and Creative Achievements Open Individual Pathways

Ellie secured three A* grades in Biology, Textiles and her EPQ, alongside an A in Psychology, and will go on to study Biology at the University of Bath.

During Sixth Form, Ellie combined academic study with her passion for Textiles, developing sustainable fabrics and being awarded a Jimmy Choo Scholarship. She has also contributed to the wider school community as a Prefect and student editor of Student Voice magazine.

Ellie exemplifies the Prior’s Field approach: combining academic ambition with creativity, leadership and individual interests.

Discovering a New Creative Talent

Georgie has been offered a place at Loughborough to study Fashion and Textiles.

Remarkably, Georgie only began studying Textiles at A Level, having previously developed a strong background in photography.

“Georgie is an exceptional young creative. With such a strong background in photography, she threw herself into the completely new world of textiles and immediately fell in love with it. She has developed a distinctive flair and a creative voice that feels entirely her own. The way she has embraced a new discipline and made it her own has been wonderful to see – Georgie is absolutely one to watch.”

Gemma Curtin, Head of Creative Arts

The school’s creative success follows an exceptional year in which students received recognition from leading organisations within the fashion and textiles industry. At Prize Giving in July, alumna Holly Simpson, now a designer for Alexander McQueen, shared her journey from Prior’s Field to international fashion houses, including creating a gown worn by Margot Robbie at the Wuthering Heights premiere.

Leadership Through Music

Ruby achieved a Distinction * in Music Technology and has secured a place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire to study Musical Performance.

A talented saxophonist, Ruby has also been integral to the technical teams supporting school concerts and productions, combining performance with leadership and contribution to the wider school community.

“From the moment Ruby joined the Sixth Form, she embraced every opportunity to lead. She organised, rallied and supported students across the school, generously sharing her musical talents and encouraging others to showcase theirs. Ruby’s results and exciting next destination are a wonderful reflection of the commitment and enthusiasm she has shown throughout her time with us. We are incredibly proud of all she has achieved – well done, Ruby!”

A Flexible Pathway into Farming

Hayley has followed a bespoke Sixth Form pathway, combining two A Levels with hands-on experience in her family’s farming business.

The flexible programme has enabled her to continue her education while developing practical skills and gaining an early start in her chosen career – another example of how Prior’s Field works with individual students to create pathways around their ambitions.

Head, Zoe Ireland, said:

What makes me most proud of this cohort is not only what they have achieved academically, but how they have achieved it. Alongside their studies, they have led, performed, volunteered, mentored, and contributed to every aspect of school life. They have supported one another, embraced challenge, and approached opportunities with energy, curiosity, and determination.

The destinations and courses they are progressing to reflect the breadth of their talents and ambitions. Whether pursuing STEM, the Arts, or Humanities, they leave Prior’s Field as capable, confident young women ready to make their mark on the world.

I would also like to thank our exceptional staff, whose dedication, expertise, and care help every student flourish as an individual. These results reflect a community that believes in every girl and encourages her to discover her strengths and pursue her ambitions.

To the Class of 2026, congratulations. We send you onto the next chapter with admiration for all you have achieved, hope for all that lies ahead and love for the part you will always play in the Prior’s Field community. We cannot wait to see where your talents, courage and determination take you next.
