Upper Sixth pupils at St George’s Ascot celebrate today as they receive their A Level results and look ahead to the next stage of their lives, with places secured on a diverse range of highly competitive courses at leading universities across the UK and beyond.
This year’s results embody the dedication and capability within the Class of 2026, with 30% of all grades achieved at A* and A. The breadth of success represents a year group with wide-ranging academic strengths across the curriculum, spanning STEM, social sciences, humanities, languages and the creative arts.
Destinations for the 2026 leavers show the extent of their ambitions with three pupils taking up places on highly competitive courses in Medicine at Oxford, Buckingham, and Nottingham. Over half the year group are headed to a Russell Group university and over a third will attend a QS Global Top 100 institution.
Pupils have accepted offers at Bristol to study Law and Modern Languages, York for Physics, King’s College London for Biomedical Engineering, Edinburgh for Economics and Manchester for Modern Languages and Business. With one pupil enrolling at University of Rochester, New York for Psychology and other courses such as Digital Media, Fashion Management and Sports Development with Coaching featuring, this demonstrates both the diverse range of interests within the year group and our highly personalised approach to supporting each pupil towards the next step that is right for them.

I am enormously proud of this year group and of the role models they have been for younger pupils at the School, and a role they will continue to play as alumnae. They have shown their ability to balance busy and varied lives with academic ambition, pursue a breadth of intellectual interests and develop a genuine capacity for independent research and critical thinking. This speaks volumes about the tailored approach that we take here at St George’s to enable our pupils to discover and develop their strengths, precisely the attributes that will serve them well as they navigate a rapidly changing world.
These strong grades are the product of a great deal of hard work from our pupils, and from the teachers who have challenged and supported them. Most importantly, they have opened the door to an exciting range of ambitious next steps and I cannot wait to see and hear where these paths take them.”
It was also a record-breaking year for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), with 86% of all EPQ grades at A* or A. The independent research and critical thinking involved in the EPQ complement A Level study and give pupils an opportunity to explore subjects that genuinely interest them in much greater depth.
