Nottingham Girls GDST celebrates a strong set of GCSE results with 52% of its Year 11 students achieving an average Grade of 7 or above across their exams.
The school has seen a particularly strong performance at the highest grades, with 19 students (30% of the cohort) achieving nine GCSEs at Grade 9-7 and eight students who achieved nine GCSEs at Grade 9-8.

Impressive language results
Both modern and classical languages continue to perform this year with 100% of students achieving Grades 9-7 in French and Greek. Languages remain a key part of the secondary curriculum, providing intellectual challenge and stimulation to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills. Many students go on to study languages at A-Level at Nottingham Girls Sixth Form, with four students from the Class of 2026 going on to study Modern and Medieval Languages at the Universities of Cambridge, Bristol and Leeds this September.
English has seen an increase in the number of students achieving Grades 9-4 with 100% in English Literature and 96.9% in English Language. The study of English underpins work in all other subjects and the approach at Nottingham Girls embraces both challenge and enjoyment with enrichment activities supporting the subject from a very young age.
Celebrating success
Maria came top in English Literature with 99%. Maria is staying for Sixth Form where she will be studying Biology, Chemistry and PRE.
Lucy came top in German with 95%. Lucy will be studying Biology, Chemistry and French in our Sixth Form.
Cirrus came top in Spanish with 97%. Cirrus is continuing on to our Sixth Form where she will be studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
Mala came top in two subjects, Music with 91% and Maths with 96%! She’s staying on for Sixth Form to study Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Music.

Not only have they studied hard, they’ve excelled in so many other areas, including music, drama, sport and charity work. They are all unique individuals with their own ambitions, who together showcase the very ethos of this school, championing each other and creating a sense of belonging which leads to success.
