Our Head, Ms Emma Watson, reflects on this year’s results:
”This year’s A Level results are outstanding. Whilst 83% of grades awarded were A*-B, 59% of grades were A*/A and 30% of grades were A*, we are also exceptionally proud of the breadth of excellence across our subjects, including Further Mathematics, Art, Photography, Computer Science, Latin and Textiles, in which every grade awarded was an A* or A.
Yet the most important story of today is not one of grades, but of character and preparedness for the future.
These outcomes reflect a community of young adults who approach life with curiosity and courage. They are academically ambitious, but they are more aptly defined by their willingness to follow individual pathways and by how they embrace opportunities that are right for them.
This year’s leavers exemplify the breadth and ambition of a St Catherine’s education. Some are heading to leading universities in the UK, while others will be studying as far afield as Australia, the USA and Bosnia. Alongside traditional academic routes, others have chosen pathways that are future-focused and industry-orientated, demonstrating the confidence to carve out careers in emerging fields and the independence of mind to pursue opportunities beyond convention.
A St Catherine’s education gives pupils the freedom to discover who they are, the confidence to pursue their ambitions and the resilience to thrive beyond school. These results are evidence not only of academic excellence, but of exceptional preparation for life beyond school.
And while each girl has earned her own success, none has done so alone. Behind every achievement stands a powerful network of friendship, family and dedicated staff whose encouragement, care and belief have helped our girls flourish. Together, they have created a culture in which girls support one another to aim high, grow in confidence and leave school ready to make their mark on the world.”
