Donna Stevens, GSA CEO, celebrates A level results today:

”The Girls’ Schools Association celebrates A level students today. The next adventure in life is just beginning for students as they step out into the world for the next exciting chapter of their lives; exams are a rite of passage that we all remember – well done to every student!

It’s particularly exciting to note A level maths passing an important milestone this year – over 100,000 entries – though sad to see the entry gap widening between boys and girls. The case for girls’ schools couldn’t be stronger because we know (and official data shows) that a girl in a girls’ school is significantly more likely to choose maths A level. Girls continue to outperform boys at A/A* grade level, but we’re pleased to see boys catching up with girls in their own achievements.

I’d like to personally thank GSA Heads for always placing girls and their interests at the heart of everything they do in school; for making a difference to hundreds of thousands of young women daily through an education that equips them to confidently go out into the world and live life to its fullest. Today’s results are testament to this.”
