RMS for Girls is delighted to announce its shortlisting for the Independent Boarding School of the Year 2025 award. This recognition, part of the annual Independent Schools of the Year awards, celebrates the school’s long-standing commitment to providing an exceptional boarding experience.

The Independent Schools of the Year awards, presented by Independent School Parent magazine, highlight the remarkable success stories and compelling student experiences within the independent education sector. With 25 diverse categories, the awards aim to showcase the breadth and depth of life as a student in independent schools across the UK.

“We are thrilled to share that RMS has been shortlisted for Independent Boarding School of the Year 2025!” the school announced on social media. “With a proud tradition of boarding, this recognition is a testament to the dedication of our incredible boarding team and the whole school community.”

The awards programme is chaired by Dr. Helen Wright, an international education adviser, and judged by a panel of leading Head Teachers and representatives from professional associations. The judges seek stories of success underpinned by strong supporting evidence, celebrating all forms of achievement.

David Moncrieff, Chair of Independent School Parent magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board, emphasised the importance of the awards in providing a platform for schools to “celebrate and promote all they are achieving in the many and varied areas of school life.” Dr. Helen Wright added, “I hope that the awards will provide our sector with an opportunity to showcase the extraordinary student experience our pupils receive and demonstrate beyond doubt to those who question our relevance that the sector is worthy of recognition and should be cherished and supported.” 1

Situated in 300 acres of beautiful Hertfordshire parkland on the outskirts of London, RMS for Girls offers a well-established and highly regarded boarding program, catering to both international and domestic students. This program is designed to provide a nurturing and supportive environment, encouraging academic growth while simultaneously building a strong sense of family and community.

The majority of boarders at RMS are full boarders, meaning they reside at the school seven days a week. These students fully immerse themselves in the vibrant school life and take advantage of a comprehensive weekend program of activities and outings.

For families seeking more flexible options, RMS also provides weekly boarding and flexi-boarding. These choices allow students to benefit from the school’s unique environment while maintaining closer ties to their homes during the week.

The finalists for the Independent Schools of the Year 2025 awards will be announced on September 9, 2025, with the winners revealed at an awards ceremony in October.
