Students at Royal High School Bath, GDST (RHB) are celebrating another year of exceptional Sixth Form success, with A Level students receiving their results and joining their International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP) peers in marking the next stage of their educational journeys.

Together, the results showcase the strength, breadth and ambition of a Sixth Form community where students are empowered to forge their own path to success. This year’s Year 13 cohort achieved outstanding outcomes, with 53% of all grades awarded at A or A* (including IB equivalent), with almost 90% of grades at A*-C. Our IB Diploma students achieved an impressive average score of 37 points, significantly above the global average. Across both pathways, students have secured places on a remarkable range of courses at leading universities in the UK and beyond.

From History at Oxford to Medicine, Engineering, Business, Fashion, Environmental Science and International Law, the destinations of this year’s cohort reflect not only academic excellence, but also the confidence to pursue individual passions and ambitions.

This year’s results demonstrate the breadth and value of a Royal High Sixth Form experience which is one that offers genuine choice. Whether specialising through A Levels or embracing the breadth of the IB Diploma Programme, students have excelled across Humanities, Languages, Sciences, Sport and the Creative Arts.

Celebrating Individual Achievements

Among the many standout successes is Jemima, Head Girl who will read History at the University of Oxford, continuing a proud family tradition, with her sister Elouisa currently in her third year of studying Medicine there.

Deputy Head Girl, Megan, who has been at Royal High since Nursery achieved an outstanding A*, A*, A and will take a gap year before university, supported by a prestigious GDST travel award that will enable her to broaden her horizons through contributing to vital conservation and community projects in Zimbabwe.

Hilda joined Royal High in Year 7 from China and has achieved an exceptional set of results, securing three A*, two As. She has earned a place to study Economics at King’s College London and will begin her course this autumn.

Students across the cohort excelled in a wide range of subjects, including Biology, Humanities, Languages and Physical Education – all testament to Royal High’s commitment to developing well-rounded young women. This is reflected in students such as Immy, a Sports Scholar and international netball player representing Northern Ireland, who successfully balanced academic study with high-level sporting achievement. We also celebrate Stella who has achieved the highest grades and balanced this with her commitment to being a leading Music Scholar achieving a distinction in her Music Diploma.

For many students, these achievements are the culmination of a lifelong journey through the school, embodying the confidence, resilience and ambition nurtured throughout their time at the school. For Daisy, Megan and Tilly started together in Nursery; today this chapter ends and they start their next chapter as alumnae.

A Community Built on Sisterhood

At the heart of this year’s story is the enduring strength of sisterhood.

This cohort has supported one another through academic challenges, celebrated each other’s successes and embraced opportunities to lead, mentor and inspire younger students. Their achievements extend beyond examination results, encompassing contributions to sport, music, drama, community service and student leadership.

The bonds formed through their time at Royal High Bath will continue long after they leave school, creating a global network of young women connected by shared experiences, mutual support and confidence in their ability to make a difference in the world.
