San Silvestre School

San Silvestre is a prestigious All-Girls British school and academic excellence is our hallmark.

We believe in creating an environment which is warm, caring and nurturing to encourage our girls to flourish. Our goal is to ensure that our students leave school with a high level of self- esteem, a good measure of common sense and the ability to stretch themselves, to commit themselves to become actively involved in their community and to assume responsibility for their own actions. Every student who comes to San Silvestre School is welcomed as a unique individual. It is our mission to empower our students to become lifelong learners, achieve high academic standards, within the context of an outstanding all-round OR holistic education. We do this with a team of outstanding teachers and a well-developed system of pastoral care, which ensures students are nurtured to achieve their full potential. “I am, I can, I ought, I will”

Early Years
The Early Years Curriculum is inquiry-based, where the acquisition of basic concepts is reinforced through discovery. Our girls have permanent access to a wide range of attractive materials, which they are encouraged to handle independently, thus enhancing their learning process. Every activity is geared towards building each child’s confidence in her own abilities, making her realise the value of effort and giving her the opportunity to make decisions and take on responsibilities.

Primary
We aim to create a rich, stimulating and challenging environment in which: i) Students are undeterred by challenges and setbacks; they understand the spirit of a Growth Mindset, and this helps them achieve high academic standards, ii) All questions and contributions are valued and celebrated, iii) Learning is based on innovation, while retaining traditions, iv) Students are committed to respecting themselves, others and the environment, v) We teach and celebrate the languages, values and cultures of British and Peruvian education and society. Students are supported to best meet their potential through an understanding of their individual needs.

Secondary
In Secondary emphasis is placed upon both individual progress and collaborative learning through inquiry, critical thinking and self-expression. Pupils develop a wide range of skills such as being able to formulate a coherent argument, develop a personal opinion, participate in discussion and present a reasoned analysis, in addition to literacy, numeracy and ICT.
