Well done to everyone who participated in Sports Day 2026. It was the perfect temperature during the afternoon which resulted in many outstanding performances and Sports Day records broken.
Isabelle (Year 5) broke the 600m record for the Juniors.
Jemima (Year 7) broke the 800m record on Sports Day as well as the 1500m record competing for
the School at the regional round of the Track and Field Cup.
Grace (Year 8) broke the 300m record for the second time this year.
Sasha (Lower Sixth) broke the 300m record.
They were all presented with their “Record breaker” trophies in the final week of term during the whole school assembly.
After the usual track and field events, the tug of war was contested, resulting in Benedict being crowned winners, Paterson runners-up, Hayward third and Duffield fourth.
The culmination of the day is always the hotly-anticipated 24-man relay, which includes students from each year group and three teachers for each House. This year Duffield emerged victorious by a long way, with Benedict runners-up, Paterson third and Miss Walters cartwheeled over the line for Hayward in fourth.
A huge thank you to Mrs Wakefield and Mrs Buff for attending sports day. Parents of the departing Sport Captain Alice and the current sports captain Annie, they spent the entire afternoon awarding medals for the track and field events. It was fabulous to see many parents attending this year. The most parents spectating we have ever had, alongside the PA delivering strawberries and cream to the stands. Thank you so much for sharing in your daughters’ sports day.
After all the event points were collated and the House Spirit points were awarded, the results are as follows:
