Discovering a Passion for Education
Miss Workman’s path to education began unexpectedly in her early teens when she began helping with baby ballet classes. This ignited a passion for teaching that she did not realise was there before and has never diminished since. This unexpected journey reflects the ethos at St Helen’s, where we encourage students to explore diverse interests and discover passions that might lead them to places they never imagined.
A Holistic Approach to Education
In today’s rapidly changing world, we believe that in order for our girls to be best equipped, education must evolve beyond traditional academics. That is why, at St Helen’s, we recognize that a well-rounded education includes offering a wide variety of co-curricular activities and nurturing emotional intelligence alongside intellectual growth. As Miss Workman emphasises, “We know that happy children learn.” From the earliest years in nursery, our girls are taught to understand and articulate their emotions. They learn that it’s okay not to feel okay sometimes and, more importantly, how to regulate those emotions to stay in what we call the “Green Zone,” where they can perform their best.
