Over the next year, students will take part in our Natural Ink Garden project, growing and using plant-based materials to create their own inks. With new gardens in both the Senior and Prep Schools, students will have access to a beautiful range of plants and flowers that can be transformed into a rainbow of natural colours.

Our Heads of Art, Kerry Ferris (Prep) and Alex Perry-Adlam (Senior), have recently completed specialist training in natural ink making, and this project marks the start of an exciting journey we’ll continue to build on year after year.

From crushing petals to mixing their own pigments, students will explore creativity in a completely new way, discovering how colours change, experimenting with materials, and connecting with techniques used for centuries. This project also supports learning beyond art, linking to science, history, and sustainability, encouraging students to think about where materials come from and how we can create more responsibly.

We can’t wait to see their creativity grow.
