Visiting the School Archive gave the Juniors a hands-on glimpse of past days at St Helen and St Katharine.

As part of a project to bring history to life, the girls were given an introductory tour of the School Archive – a treasure trove of photographs, letters, books, programmes, old uniforms, scientific instruments and many other school artefacts and memorabilia.

After the tour, the students had the opportunity to ‘raid the dressing up box’ and try on all the past uniforms, which was a hit! They tried on a range of combinations of donated items from different eras.

The girls were then encouraged to write letters to St Helen’s alumnae, where they could ask questions about what life was like for HelKats in the past – and they are very excited about receiving replies!
