Exam marking mistakes being made by exhausted teachers

GSA President Alice Phillips has claimed that errors are being made marking GCSE and A Level exam scripts because teachers have to do the marking late at night.

She says that the movement towards marking by electronic means, and teachers having to choose a computer outside of school to use for marking, has made it hard for examiners to grade exam papers during the normal school day when they are alert, instead marking at home late at night when they are tired and more susceptible to making mistakes. Read more…
