St Mary’s girl’s winning poem royally dispatched to The Queen!

23 June 2016

St. Mary’s, Gerrards Cross pupil Scarlett Carroll in Year 4 has won the UK Rotary Poem Competition for The Queen’s 90th Birthday celebrations. Her poem was royally despatched to Windsor Castle, included in a birthday card to Her Majesty.

The Queen’s 90th Birthday:

It’s the Queen’s 90th birthday
Hip,hip,hip hooray!
It’s the Queen’s 90th birthday,
Let’s celebrate all day.

The corgis will bring presents,
And lick the Queen to death,
They’ll rip up all the paper,
And make an awful mess!

The Queen has lots of ponies,
And rides them every day,
Especially on her birthday,
She’ll feed them golden hay

The whole country loves the Queen,
And wish her all the best,
We hope she lives to a ripe old age,
And the corgis’ aren’t a pest!
