Pupils Trade Bolton School for Hogwarts to Celebrate Harry Potter Book Night

2 February 2018

Bolton School was transformed into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for magical ‘lessons’ to celebrate Harry Potter Book Night. Pupils were sorted into the four Hogwarts Houses and competed for House Points.

As the theme for this year’s Harry Potter Book Night was Fantastic Beasts, the lesson was Care of Magical Creatures. There was even an appearance from the famous ‘biting book’ The Monster Book of Monsters. In a mixture of Charades and Pictionary, pupils were given a fantastical creature to mime and draw, while the rest of their team guessed its identity for House Points. Pupils were also able to peruse the new illustrated edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which has appeared as if by magic in the Bolton School library.

Professor Caller and Madame Howarth, who are more usually known as the School’s librarians, stood in for Professor Hagrid and organised Care of Magical Creatures lessons in the School libraries.
