St Helen and St Katharine students clear fences at NSEA Eventing Championships

10 October 2018

Charlotte (Upper Sixth), Lottie (Lower Sixth), Zoe (Year 10) and Scarlett (Year 9) started the day with some fantastic dressage scores from the whole team, especially Scarlett, coming out of the ring with an impressive 26.3. As the day continued the nerves escalated and the intensity built. Moving on to the show jumping, the first rider Zoe came through with a speedy clear round, followed by Charlotte with an equally fast round but unfortunately with the last pole down. Scarlett jumped her heart out too with a swift clear round.

With a quick turnaround they were back out into the warm up for the cross country. First out of the gate was Zoe with a fantastic clear, picking up no time faults. Scarlett, Lottie and Charlotte were soon to follow with exciting clear rounds. It was obvious they were enjoying every moment with beaming smiles.

After team members finished riding there were many nervous hours waiting for the final results: the team finished 3rd in the Championship Final. Scarlett also secured fifth as an individual rider. An extremely rewarding result, fully deserved after so much hard work.
