St Mary’s parents’ coffee morning with mental wellbeing focus

22 May 2019

As part of Mental Health Week, St Mary’s School was delighted to welcome parents to school on Thursday morning for a coffee morning with a difference. The morning included four practical sessions to help parents support their daughters’ mental health and wellbeing, followed by an opportunity to enjoy refreshments and a chat with other parents including representatives from the St Mary’s Association and Teaching Staff. The event was facilitated by parents, students and staff, in keeping with how the school supports the girls through the pastoral and PSHCEE programme.

The talks included: “Healthy thinking – changing negative thoughts”, the benefits of oils to support your mood, “Breakfasts on the go”, and “Breathing – it’s in your control”.

A fantastic morning on mental wellbeing, which will undoubtedly prove valuable as we enter the summer examination season. Thank you to all the parents who supported this event.
