Based on the growing popularity of the Teachmeet movement on Twitter and the growing grassroots movement to share good practice and accelerate whole school approaches to teaching and learning, St Mary’s School, Gerrards Cross, put together a day of cutting edge CPD entitled ’21st Century Education’.
We also, very excitingly, enlisted the services of Tom Sherrington, former Head and Educational Consultant, who was the Keynote speaker and also hosted a couple of seminars on key educational theories in practice. Our own staff, Mr Cox, Mr Gibb, Mrs Williams, Mrs Davison, Mrs Cork, Mrs Kalinowski, Mr Dodd and a colleague, Helen Hawkins, from the Royal Masonic School, then put on sessions ranging from Technology and Media in the classroom, through to Golden Sentences, High Challenge, Character Strengths for Learning, Vocabulary and Communication, Collaboration and Creativity.
A range of teachers from far and wide attended the day and said it was a great success.
