Pupils gathered on the Hill this morning to receive the outcome of their A level examinations, celebrating a fantastic set of results, with 46% of grades awarded at A* or A across A level subjects and Extended Project Qualifications (EPQs).
There were particularly strong results in a number of subjects. Further Mathematics students achieved a clean sweep of A* grades, while Drama and French students celebrated 100% A grades. All geographers and computer scientists achieved grade B or above, while Classics students also achieved an impressive 100% A*-B. All Classics students are now going on to read the subject at university – a wonderful testament to their love of Classics and the infectious passion of their teachers.
Across the Creative and Performing Arts, pupils achieved 100% A*-B grades. These subjects demand determination, creativity and perseverance, with pupils continually building on their knowledge and developing their skills. Rather than learning through discrete modules and neat boxes, students are assessed on a cumulative understanding of creativity, technique and knowledge.
Individual achievements were equally impressive. Radhika earned 5A* grades across her A levels and EPQ and will go on to read Economics at UCL, while Gabriella celebrated 4A* grades and will be taking on Classics at Exeter. Both Radhika and Gabriella were incredibly hardworking members of the Junior Leadership Team, balancing their studies with organising whole-School events and regularly participating in Assemblies and Masses. Radhika also secured her ARSM Diploma in Piano Performance earlier this year.
Head Girl, Naeve, also achieved a superb set of grades (2A*, 2A) and is going to study History at Cambridge, while Emma earned 2A*s and an A grade and will be reading Mathematics at Bristol.
Headmistress, Maria Young, was delighted with the outcomes for the girls today:
‘Receiving A level results is always a pivotal moment in a young person’s life, and today I am thrilled to see our girls prepared, excited and ready to take their place in the wider world.
Most importantly, they are not just leaving Farnborough Hill with a set of strong grades; they are leaving with a strong sense of self, of worth and of community – of which they will always be a part.
Through hard work, resilience and buckets of laughter and good humour, they have completely earned every grade they are celebrating today. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to the staff here, and to every girl’s parents and wider family, for creating an environment in which these young people can achieve so highly and fulfil their potential so abundantly.
We will follow their next steps with pride!’.
Today’s results reflect not only the academic commitment of the pupils, but the whole-person education at the heart of life on the Hill – nurturing young women who are equipped with the knowledge, confidence, resilience and sense of community to truly flourish, wherever their journey takes them.
