Calling all GSA Choirs! Following on from the success of recent years, we are busy planning for the 2026 GSA Choir of the Year competition generously sponsored by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM).
The grand final will be kindly hosted at St Helen & St Katharine, Abingdon on Sunday 8th March 2026.
This year’s competition saw a number of GSA Senior and Junior choirs submit videos of their Choir performances and culminated in a grand final in-person celebration of singing in March 2025, and we look forward to more schools entering the 2026 competition.
Entries will be judged by Dr Charlotte Exon, Director of Music, St Helen & St Katharine School, Abingdon and Dr Charles Béquignon-MacDougall, ABRSM Consultant (co-leading ABRSM Voices), Creative Director of Gabrieli Roar, Musical Director of Trinity Laban Conservatoire Chamber Choir, and Director and Trustee of the Choral Foundation of His Majesty’s Chapel Royal at Hampton Court Palace.

Eligibility Criteria
Who is it for?
When is the deadline?
Six choirs in each age category will be selected to take part in the grand final in-person at St Helen & St Katharine School, Abingdon in front of an audience of family and friends on Sunday 8th March 2026.
- Each choir is invited to sing two contrasting pieces of their choice
- The combined length of the songs must not exceed eight minutes
- Pieces can be in any style and can include Christmas songs if preferred
- Submit your video entries by 9 January 2026
- Send in your choir’s video performances using the online form – either upload and supply links to YouTube/Vimeo or send the video files via WeTransfer
