GSA are delighted to host our annual creative writing competition for young people.
Writers of prose and poetry alike are welcome to take part, from Year 3 through to sixth formers, and we are really looking forward to reading your submissions.
Please pass this opportunity on to the relevant staff in your schools and encourage all year groups to enter.
The theme for the competition is set to be announced in the Spring term 2023.
Entries are free and can be prose or poetry
There are three age categories:
-Years 3 to 6 (or equivalent)
-Years 7 to 11 (or equivalent)
Entries will be judged by GSA Officers and Fellows using the following criteria:
– Adherence to the theme
The winners in each category will be informed, via their teacher, no later than Friday 26 May and invited to make a video recording of themselves reading their winning entry, which will be broadcast to GSA Headteachers during the GSA Summer Briefing on 12 June, when the winning entries will be formally announced. On and after this date, the winners’ videos will also be published on the GSA website at www.gsa.uk.com and shared on social media.
Teachers can submit individual entries on behalf of students or can upload multiple entries on behalf of a class or group.
