Kensington Prep School GDST

At Kensington Prep School in Fulham we focus on growing great minds. We are an award-winning school for 4-11 year-olds, situated in spacious grounds with cutting-edge facilities.

We encourage individuality and questioning thinkers and win praise for our nurturing approach, rich curriculum and outstanding academic results. We combine forward-thinking with traditional values and girls go on to some of the best senior schools and boarding schools in London and the UK.

The school was named Independent Prep of the Year by Independent School Parent Magazine and shortlisted for the TES Independent Prep School of the Year Award in 2018 for our innovative ‘Creating Spaces for Growing Minds’ building project. In 2020 the school won the Innovation Award for Teaching and Learning and a commendation for pupil experience by the DfE supported Education Estates Awards.

New ground-breaking facilities have transformed every aspect of the school. These include spacious classroom breakout areas with retractable doors, a high-tech ‘Explore Floor’, multi-media recording studio, and an Eco-Greenhouse. Our specialist drama, art, science and IT suites have also been refurbished and two new lifts mean the school is also now fully accessible throughout.

The latest development is the transformation of our school library. Redesigned with a new mezzanine level the transformation has created a warm, inviting and child-friendly space with an even wider range of enticing books, both fact and fiction. The library puts reading at the heart of the school with over 10,000 books, a new mezzanine level, more child accessible bookcases and inviting cosy corners.

The school is situated in over an acre of grounds with a spacious playground and netball and tennis courts. We have lots of space for outdoor learning and girls also attend Forest School. As well as sport, music also plays a big part in the life of the schools with orchestras, several choirs and ensembles.
