Students at Sheffield Girls’ are celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results today, with 11 students achieving straight A* grades and more than a third of the cohort securing straight A*s and As.

The Class of 2026 achieved an impressive 59% of grades at A*- A, 81% at A*- B and 93% at A* – C, continuing the school’s record of exceptional academic achievement.

Among the headline successes, 11 students achieved straight A* grades, while 28 students, more than a third of the year group, achieved straight A*s and As. Two students achieved the exceptional feat of securing four A* grades.

Head Alex Wilson said:

“Results Day is always a very special moment for our school community and I could not be prouder of this remarkable group of young women. Behind every grade is an individual story: years of hard work, determination and curiosity, alongside the encouragement of teachers, friends and families who have supported them along the way.

“What makes me particularly proud is the breadth of their achievements. Our girls are heading off to pursue an extraordinary range of courses and opportunities, from Medicine, Veterinary Science and Engineering to the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

“They have contributed enormously to the life of Sheffield Girls’ and we will miss them greatly. They leave us as confident, thoughtful and ambitious young women and we are tremendously excited to see what they do next.”

Among those celebrating is Freya, a member of the Head Girl Team and Politics subject prefect, who achieved 3 A*s and has secured a highly competitive place to study History and Politics at the University of Oxford.

Freya is also one of the school’s Melbournians, pupils who have attended Sheffield Girls’ continuously from Reception through to Year 13. This year’s Melbournians achieved a combined 10 A* grades, 14 As and 11 Bs.

Reflecting on Freya’s achievement and growing national interest in Politics and the Humanities, the Head added:

“It is particularly encouraging to see the growing interest nationally in subjects such as Politics and History, at a time when there is so much discussion about the future of the Humanities and their place alongside STEM. These subjects matter enormously. In an increasingly complex world, young people need the ability to think critically, understand different perspectives, challenge ideas and communicate with clarity and confidence.

“Freya embodies that brilliantly. Securing a place at Oxford to study History and Politics is an exceptional achievement and reflects both her academic ability and a genuine curiosity about the world around her.

It is also a memorable Results Day for the Radatz family, as Sylvie becomes the fourth sister to complete her education at Sheffield Girls’. Sylvie achieved three A* grades and will study Medicine at the University of Leicester, following sisters Suzannah, Stephanie and Sophie.

Between the four sisters they have achieved an extraordinary eight A* grades, three As and one B at A Level. Older sister Suzannah, Class of 2021, went on to study Veterinary Medicine and has just graduated with First Class Honours.

“There is something incredibly special about celebrating Sylvie’s results today, knowing that she is the fourth Radatz sister to leave Sheffield Girls’. Between them, the girls have achieved an extraordinary amount, but I love most about this story is that it captures what we mean when we talk about the Sheffield Girls’ family. Schools are about far more than the years a pupil spends in the classroom. We build relationships with whole families, share in the milestones along the way and remain enormously proud of our girls long after they have left us. To have been part of the journeys of four sisters from one family is a real privilege.” said Head Alex Wilson.

The results bring to a close an exceptional academic year for Sheffield Girls’, which was named Independent Secondary School of the Year in the North by The Sunday Times Parent Power 2026.
