Congratulations to Upper 3 pupil, Chloe Hannam, for her Regional Gymnast of the Year award, which she recently received at the Olga awards evening in Poole. Chloe began gymnastics at the age of four, and works on the beam, bar, vault and floor. She attended a National competition in 2017 for tumbling and will be attending the Regional competition later on this year, with the aim of getting through to National level.
Chloe has also been selected to join the British Gymnastics Leadership Academy Programme; only a few girls were chosen for this based on their passion for the sport, and their gymnastic achievements. The 12-year-old will attend courses to enable her to help with coaching and running events in gymnastics, locally and nationally, and she will also work closely with a mentor in order to work on completing her own goals. Both the school and Chloe’s family are very proud of her achievements. Chloe said she loves gymnastics because, ‘when I focus on my moves I can forget everything else; gymnastics is so absorbing and fun to do.’ We wish her all the best for her gymnastic journey ahead.
