Football focus at Bruton School for Girls

11 June 2020

Bruton School for Girls has partnered with Exeter City Community Trust – part of Exeter City Football Club – to deliver online sports sessions and an introduction to leadership skills. The practical sessions are being delivered by coaches from the Club during the second half of the Summer Term to girls in Years 5 to 9 via their weekly PE sessions, which are currently provided remotely via Microsoft Teams.

Directors of Sport at the school, Georgi Dike and Hannah Portingale-Cowper, commented: “Leadership skills are incredibly important and the girls will benefit from learning how to organise, manage time and structure sessions. The emphasis is on having fun while organising and planning. We hope that many of the girls will go on to take the FA Leadership Award which we hope to offer in the Autumn Term.”
