The Talbot Heath school community were delighted to welcome Kevin Bennett from Globe Education, who led workshops focusing on ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ for the whole of Lower 4 in the STEAM Hub. Pupils explored elements of the theatre, the relationships between characters and the audience, and the rich language of the play through engaging drama – focused activities. Kevin was able to give pupils an insight into the influence of culture and society on the play and performance, which will prove useful to pupils when revisiting Shakespeare in Upper 4 and GCSE. One Lower 4 pupils commented: ‘Experiencing Shakespeare in such a dynamic way was delightful. It has definitely given some of us a new view on the magic of Shakespeare, his plays and his theatre.’
