Emily Hair, new Head of Northampton High’s Junior School and Nursery, brings broad primary and Early Years experience, most recently in post as Executive Head of primary schools in Wellingborough.

Educated in Bedfordshire, Emily said. “I am incredibly excited to join the team at Northampton High. I believe passionately in the power of education in shaping the future of children. It is an honour to play a part in a child’s education and a responsibility I take very seriously.” She continued, “Leading the Nursery and Junior School at Northampton High is truly exciting and I cannot wait to get started!”

Graduating with a BA Hons in Primary Education and English from York, Emily started her teaching career in a village school in Buckinghamshire, and then moved to a second school in Buckinghamshire where she embraced the unique career challenge of being part of a team opening a brand new two-form entry primary school. Having gained her SENCo qualification, she has since worked in a number of senior leadership roles in primary school settings.

“Northampton High School has a reputation for delivering strong academic outcomes, within a nurturing and creative environment, and I am very proud to work with the team to further develop the pupil experience and expand educational excellence”, Emily affirmed.

Emily is a keen swimmer and has enjoyed trying wild swimming in local lakes; she also loves to travel and explore new places. An accomplished musician in her formative years, she has recently dusted off the piano at home and is enjoying rediscovering her musical skills.
