A popular member of staff has said farewell after working at Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools for more than 20 years.

Danny Nineham, who is a renowned expert on big cats in the wild, drove pupils and staff between the schools’ sites, on trips and excursions.

Danny, who retired on Friday 16th June, also looked after the fleet of vehicles.

Danny, who lives in the Forest of Dean, was the School Driver and Vehicles Coordinator, having initially joined the staff in the catering department two decades ago.

“I’m very loyal and I love everyone and everything about Haberdashers’ Monmouth Schools,” said Danny, who is looking forward to a well-earned retirement.

“I enjoyed chatting to the children and I loved it when they returned to see me once they had left school. I enjoyed seeing the impact that even a few short chats can have on the children.”

He continued: “I want to spend time gardening when I can, spending more time with my family, and I want to pick up my five-year-old grandson from school and go fishing with my 11-year-old grandson.

“I’m looking forward to relaxing with my family, looking after my wife, and pursuing my interests.”
