24 August 2023

RGS Dodderhill pupils have celebrated receiving their GCSE examination results. The School was full of smiles as the close-knit cohort of 13 pupils celebrated their achievements together alongside their teachers, family and friends.

Amongst the pupils celebrating today was talented Musician and Head Girl Natasha Rickard, who achieved an exceptional 10 GCSE’s graded 8/9, with nine at the top grade 9. Natasha comments that she enjoyed her time at RGS Dodderhill, being Head Girl was a great experience for her, helping her get to know her peers in a variety of ways while supporting younger pupils with Co-curricular activities such as DofE volunteering.

Georgia Houston, who plays Netball for Wasps Netball Academy where she is part of their Player Development Programme, achieved a very strong set of 10 GCSEs. Georgia was delighted with her results and has very much enjoyed her time at RGS Dodderhill. She now looks forward to moving to RGS Worcester Sixth Form where she will continue her education. Georgia adds that she is looking forward to spending time with her family this evening to celebrate her results and will be watching her brother, Theo who is also a pupil at RGS Worcester play in a Tennis competition.

Lucy Bott who starred as the formidable Miss Trunchbull in the School’s recent production of Matilda the Musical achieved 9 GCSEs, gaining 8s in both French and Spanish. Lucy said “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at RGS Dodderhill and I am really pleased with my results today. I am looking forward to celebrating my GCSE results with my family this evening and joining the Sixth Form at RGS Worcester this September”.

The current Acting Headmistress, Mrs Amelia Cartwright expressed her pride at the pupils’ examination results commenting, “Despite the difficulties these pupils have faced with Covid-19 they have done so incredibly well. Although we should highlight a number of exceptional performances achieving the top grades of 9’s and 8’s, I am very proud of this cohort who have faced adversity and showed great resilience to do their very best in this year’s GCSEs.”

Also present this morning was the Incoming Headmaster, Mr Thomas Banyard who will join the RGS Family of Schools in September. Tom joins us from the Kings College International School Bangkok and commented, “We are so incredibly proud of the achievements of every pupil who received their GCSE results today. The pupils should be proud of the progress that they have made during their time at RGS Dodderhill and all can clearly see that their efforts have pushed them further. RGS Dodderhill is a beautiful school that can help nurture pupils who want to do well, regardless of whether they are looking to be academically stretched at the top end, or whether they need help, support and the guidance of superb teachers to bring out the best in them.”

We want to congratulate every pupil who has received their GCSE results today. We wish them every success in the future and look forward to seeing many of them join RGS Worcester in September to continue their studies.
