St Augustine’s Priory Farm celebrates an award-winning season, with 14 prizes at the Newbury Show and further success at the Bucks County Show.

Priory Farm at St Augustine’s Priory continues to go from strength to strength, celebrating an outstanding season of success at two major agricultural shows. These achievements highlight the dedication of the farm team and the valuable opportunities the school farm provides for pupils to learn, develop practical skills and experience life beyond the classroom.

At the Newbury Show, Priory Farm’s sheep won an impressive 10 rosettes across a range of classes, including first place in the Primitive Group of Three Wool on the Hoof. Pupils also achieved success in the Young Handlers classes, contributing to a fantastic overall haul of 14 prizes. Farm Manager Ms Fraser was joined by Art teacher Ms Jordens, Alumni Officer Mrs Allen and senior students to celebrate the team’s achievements.

Success also followed at the Bucks County Show on in late August, where the school’s ram, Bear, was successfully placed in the Primitive Ram category. Pupils Lucy and Ori attended with their families to support Bear and the wider flock, alongside Farm Manager Ms Fraser and Bursar Mr Lacken.

Priory Farm is a valued part of school life, giving pupils hands-on experience of animal care and welfare while fostering responsibility, teamwork and confidence. Participation in agricultural shows allows them to put their learning into practice, engage with the wider farming community and celebrate the rewards of dedication and hard work.

The school extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, particularly Ms Fraser for her expertise and exceptional care of the animals.

With impressive results and enriching experiences for its pupils, Priory Farm continues to go from strength to strength, and the whole Priory community is immensely proud.
