Women’s Global Mentorship Alliance

The 2024 programme will give participants considerable flexibility to fit with their needs and their journey, allowing them to include the following tools:

  • Insights Discovery Profiling – A thought-provoking personal profiling tool which is based on the work of Carl Jung is used to produce a highly personalised report of who you are as an individual and as a leader. Participants learn about their predispositions, or preferred behaviours, their conscious and less conscious preferences and how they interact in one-to-one and group settings. Participants’ understanding of this report is supported by one of our industry-leading coaches who takes you through a detailed feedback and reflection process.
  • Coaching/Mentorship – Participants have three mentoring sessions with a dedicated mentor who supports and guides them to understanding themselves as a leader and their leadership journey. Our mentors are all current or former senior executives who have held successful high-profile careers in a diverse range of organisations, including Microsoft, REI, Santander Bank, Barclays Bank, The British Army, and several public sector bodies. We believe in mentorship by a leader with a non-education background; our stance being that we are mentoring creative leadership and that the best mentorship for growth comes from outside of your organisation.
  • To maximise the power of mentorship and prepare mentees for the next steps in their careers, many mentees choose to focus their sessions around a personal or professional target. These often include:
    – A piece of work on the strategic vision of the school
    – Solving a school-based problem
    – Undertaking a piece of educational research
    – Addressing a personal skills gap to improve opportunities for progression
    – Where appropriate, there is an opportunity to present your research, either virtually or face-to-face and your research will be published by Bright Field.
    – Many of our mentees utilise this opportunity to reintroduce themselves to post-graduate research or use it as a springboard to apply for a MA.
  • Connection to the Bright Field network which comprises all mentees globally, as well as some of the best and brightest leaders in their respective industries.

As an organisation we run courses throughout the year and members of the Women’s Global Mentorship Alliance will receive a discounted rate for attendance at these events. In recent years, these sessions so have included webinars on authenticity, civil discourse and difficult conversations, scenario planning, leadership values, resilience, wellbeing, and parental engagement.

Many of our participants seek additional mentoring and coaching sessions after the course has finished. As a result, we will now be offering a post-course opportunity for additional coaching at a session agreed with your mentor.
