Heathfield School are delighted to announce that students won three separate categories in the ISA Regional Art Competition earlier this week, and were highly commended in a further two categories!

This is an outstanding achievement for our students, who worked incredibly hard to create their pieces.

Martha placed first in the KS5 Textiles category, with her incredibly intricate and thought-provoking work, entitled ‘Do we All Suffer with Dementia?’. Sofia earned first place in the KS5 Fashion category with ‘Sentient Beings (The Crab)’ – a gorgeous garment with statement sleeves and intricate beadwork. Molly’s incredibly textured ‘Proof of Life’ study secured first in the KS4 Drawing category.

Both Savannah and Amber earned ‘highly commended’ with their entries in the KS5 Drawing and KS3 Sculpture categories respectively.

Angela Farrugia, Head of Art, was thrilled for the girls, commenting:

‘Having so many of our students recognised in the prestigious ISA Art Competition is a remarkable achievement. I am immensely proud of every student whose work was entered, as each piece reflects outstanding creativity and commitment on their part.

The ISA exhibition is always an inspiring event, showcasing artwork of the highest calibre from schools across the country. To see so many Heathfield students receiving recognition amongst such strong competition is a wonderful accomplishment and highlights the exceptional standard of work they are producing.

Their success is thoroughly deserved and further reinforces the fact that the quality, ambition, and maturity of their artwork are truly beyond their years.’

Very best of luck to Martha, Sofia and Molly for the National Finals in November. Watch this space!
