Amongst this year’s individual success stories, Lizzie, who joined Moreton Hall in Year 4, achieved three A* grades in Psychology, Religious Studies and Drama while playing lacrosse at national level, earning a call-up to represent Wales at the recent World Lacrosse Championships in Tokyo.
Isabella, who joined in Year 7, gained two A* grades and an A across French, English Literature and Music, along with an A* for an outstanding EPQ, and goes on to read French at St Peter’s College, Oxford.
Rosie flies the flag for girls in STEM with four A* grades in Biology, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry, plus an A* in her EPQ, and heads to University College London to study Maths.
International student Regina, who joined Moreton in the Upper Fourth, completed an outstanding set of results with four A* grades in Biology, Maths, English Literature and Chemistry and will go on to study Biomedical Engineering in Hong Kong.
Principal Michael Brewer said: “Behind every one of these grades is a young woman who has worked with real determination, supported by families and staff who believe in her. That is what Moreton is about: giving each girl the confidence and the space to find her own path, and providing the support needed for her to take it. We could not be prouder of this year group, and we wish them every success in the chapters ahead.”
Achievements like these grow out of the wider Moreton experience. The school sits on a 100-acre campus in the Shropshire countryside near Oswestry, giving its boarders and day girls a safe, well-supported setting in which to work and grow. Alongside strong teaching, students have specialist music and drama provision, well-equipped facilities for science and technology, and a sporting programme that has produced national champions and international representatives, all of which help each girl find her own strengths well beyond the examination hall.
There is further good news for the Moreton community this summer, with the school having returned to UK ownership. The change brings renewed investment and a long-term commitment to the school, backing the character and traditions that have shaped Moreton for more than a century.
Chair of the Board Matt Brooksbank said:
Moreton Hall has a proud tradition of securing excellent results for its pupils. On behalf of the Board, I offer the greatest admiration and heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class of 2026. They doubtless have bright futures ahead; they will always be Moretonians.
Families who would like to see the school for themselves are warmly invited to Moreton Hall’s whole-school Open Day on Saturday 19th September at 9.30am. Details and registration are at moretonhall.org/open-day.
