Moreton Hall Nursery is to expand from September 2026, creating around 20 to 25 per cent more places in response to sustained demand from local families. At some entry points, waiting lists now extend beyond a year.

The expansion widens the nursery’s babies and early years provision and provides extra places for two to four-year-olds. Moreton Hall Nursery cares for children from six months to four years, and the additional space and staffing will allow more families to secure a place at a setting rated Outstanding by Ofsted.

The work includes the creation of new classrooms on the school’s 100-acre campus near Oswestry, part of continued investment by Moreton Hall’s new UK-based ownership. Appealing to many parents is the ability to drive onto the site and drop off their children safely at a nursery surrounded by the beautiful Moreton Hall grounds.

Set within Shropshire’s designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Nursery gives its youngest children the run of the wider school’s facilities, from the swimming pool and Holroyd Community Theatre to forest school and specialist teaching in French, music, dance and mini tennis. Wrap-around care runs from 8am to 6pm, with home-cooked meals throughout the day and funded places available.

Nursery Manager Nic Perry said: “We have seen wonderful interest in the Nursery, to the point where some of our rooms now have waiting lists more than a year long. Expanding means we can welcome more families early and give their children the best start in life, in a warm, family setting where every child is known and cared for as an individual. We can’t wait to meet them.”

Principal Michael Brewer said: “The Nursery is where the Moreton journey begins for many of our families, and the demand for places speaks volumes about the confidence parents place in us. This investment reflects our owners’ ambition for Moreton and their belief in the early years as the foundation of everything that follows. It is the first step in an exciting period for the school.”
