With three U15 players in the travelling group, the trip was planned as a chance to gain experience, build as a team and lay the groundwork for the season ahead.
The Prague Cup is seen as one of the most prestigious international lacrosse tournaments in Europe, bringing together teams from around the world.
Moreton came through the group stages with a clean sweep, beating the U20 national sides of Germany, Poland and Czechia, along with the 2025 National Schools Champions Queen Anne’s School and the South East Women’s Lacrosse Association. That form carried them into a closely fought final against a strong U20 Czechia team, where they were edged out by a single goal in the closing moments, finishing as runners-up.
Reaching the final was an achievement in itself for a squad this young, which included a U15 goalkeeper stepping up with no senior experience. Competing so closely against established U20 national teams and winning all but one of those meetings says a great deal about the group’s ability and character.
Moreton Hall’s Head of Lacrosse, Carina Walsh, said: “We couldn’t be prouder of how the players represented Moreton Hall over the weekend, and we’re looking forward to seeing this team grow as the season gets underway.”
