At the heart of Promise Week is our pledge to ensure every girl at FHS feels supported, inspired, and empowered to follow her dreams – unlocking potential, fostering ambition, and shaping the leaders of tomorrow. Through a series of inspiring events, conversations, and fundraising endeavours, we championed access to education and the incredible impact it has on young lives.
Our pupils, parents and staff came together to raise awareness and support for FHS bursaries via our transformational bursary campaign, the Promise Campaign, and the Hardship Fund, as well as upcoming school projects. From our sponsored Rowing and Cycling Challenge (which raised an incredible £2,570 with match funding) with a special guest visit from Olympic rower, Becky Wilde, to our pupils’ creative ‘Make a Promise’ bracelet-making, it was a week to remember.
Promise Week culminated in a fabulous Jazz Night, where we had the privilege of welcoming FHS alumna and Xatoms CEO, Diana Virgovicova, who spoke alongside the brilliant actor Joseph Fiennes. The evening was made even more memorable with jazz by our talented Head of Prep School Music, Daisy Houlder.
Diana shared an inspiring talk about how receiving a Foundation Scholarship at FHS transformed her life, instilling the confidence and determination to pursue her dreams. Her achievements are nothing short of remarkable – being named Canada’s Youth Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 and earning a place on Forbes’s 30 Under 30 North America. Her groundbreaking discovery of a molecule that can purify water is set to impact millions around the world, and she is a powerful example of the ‘Being the Difference’ spirit that we nurture at FHS.
A special thank you to our wonderful donors, as well as the pupils, parents, and staff for their energy, creativity, and dedication in bringing Promise Week to life.
