At Francis Holland School, Sloane Square, our ambition is to provide a curriculum and environment which will enable our girls to be the inventors, designers, entrepreneurs, game-changers, and leaders of tomorrow.
We offer an outstanding experience of learning and culture by putting curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving at the heart of our approach to learning.
Francis Holland Senior School is academically selective attracting girls from our own Junior School as well as a broad range of preparatory and primary schools. The school’s last Independent Schools Inspectorate Report noted the ‘remarkable relationships between staff and pupils and the sense of kindness, courtesy and community which pervades the School’.
In addition to our outstanding academic results we have around sixty clubs, activities and societies to choose from and every girl is encouraged to discover their individual talent. Francis Holland has an enviable reputation for music, drama, art, ballet and sport and enjoys well-equipped facilities for each.
Our central London location enables us to take full advantage of an excellent range of local museums, galleries and theatres and enjoy a programme of eminent visiting speakers who enrich the educational experience and prepare girls for life beyond Francis Holland.

Bursaries & Scholarships
Scholarships typically come with 5% remission of fees at 11+ and 25% at 16+ and are awarded on assessment of performance tests. Scholarships are offered for academic, sport, music, drama, art and ballet. Criteria in each varies accordingly.
The girls who apply for our scholarships receive the requirements we expect for application as well as what we expect if they are rewarded a scholarship. The girls are also invited to come to the school for an assessment day.
At Francis Holland, we welcome capable, creative and ambitious pupils, regardless of their background. The more widely we can offer an outstanding Francis Holland education for life, the greater the benefit to women, to society at large and to our community. Applicants to our schools can apply for support for fees at varying levels as all our bursaries are means-tested.
Our bursary programme can cover up to 100% of educational costs and related costs dependent on the need ranging from full bursaries to sixth form bursaries, as well as hardship bursaries where required. The number of pupils in the schools benefiting from some sort of bursary provision varies year on year.
We also operate a bursary fundraising programme amongst our wider community of parents and alumni which contributes towards the cost of providing bursary support to ensure that finance is never a reason a capable girl cannot access a Francis Holland education.
