We are delighted to be celebrating another year of excellent A level results, with students securing places at some of the world’s most prestigious universities.

This year’s Upper Sixth – the largest in the school’s history with 126 students – has achieved exceptional results:

36% of all grades awarded were A*

75% of grades were A*-A

96% of grades were A*-B

69 students earned straight A*-A grades

In subjects including Physics, Further Maths, Art, History of Art, Geography, Spanish and Latin, over half of all entries achieved A*-A

Behind these impressive figures are stories of both individual and collective achievement. From future scientists and historians to medics, musicians, and engineers, students are heading to leading universities to pursue a wide variety of disciplines. LEH and all our teachers and staff send our very best wishes and congratulations to all our students.

Among many individual triumphs and exciting destinations are several students who achieved a clean sweep of A* grades. Sophie Morgan will read Computer Science at the University of Bath. Orla McNeany will study History & Politics at the University of Edinburgh; Deputy Head Girl, Heidi Poulter, is heading to the University of Cambridge to read Natural Sciences; Lauren Senior, also bound for Cambridge, will study History & Modern Languages and Rosie Tatum, will pursue Biochemistry at the University of Durham.

Connie Stancliffe will read English & History at the University of Warwick; Niva Patel, will be taking Medicine at King’s College London; oboist Emilia Gahan, one of the UK’s top 15 teenage musicians and a BBC Young Musician 2024 finalist, will study at the Royal College of Music; and Hattie Meehan, a member of the LEH and Hampton School 42nd Street cast which won Best Musical 2025 at the National School Theatre Awards, will study Liberal Arts at the University of Durham.

LEH Head, Rowena Cole, praised both the academic results and the wider contribution the students have made to the school community:

“This year’s A level results are a testament to the drive, intellectual inquiry, and sheer determination of our bold students, brilliantly supported by their dedicated teachers and families. What sets this cohort apart is not just their academic brilliance, but the incredible variety of paths they are now embarking on at some of the world’s most prestigious universities – from Computer Science and Medicine to Liberal Arts and Modern Languages.

“During their time here, they have lit up every corner of school life with their energy, creativity, and commitment – excelling in sport, music, drama, leadership, and so much more. They have been inspiring role models for our younger pupils and leave us as confident, compassionate young women who have shaped and enriched our community in countless ways. We are all incredibly proud and can’t wait to see them continue to thrive in the years ahead!”
