Croydon High School in Selsdon is an exceptional independent day school for girls aged 3 to 18. Part of the GDST network, one of the UK’s leading educational charities, Croydon High has been delivering outstanding education to local girls since 1874. This proud history is important to the school and the strong relationship with an active alumnae network delivers untold benefits for current pupils, in terms of future career and networking opportunities. But there is also a firm focus on the future, with new Headmistress Emma Pattison joining the school at a very positive time in its history. The school reports increased numbers at Year 7 and at Sixth Form and a blossoming Junior School under Head, Sophie Bradshaw, where increased demand for places has meant additional classes opening in September 2016 for Years 2, 3 and 4.
As Headmistress Emma Pattison explains; “Building on the strong foundations of our past, Croydon High girls embrace challenge and opportunity and their remarkable talents and aspirations inspire the whole community, making this a truly exceptional place to work and learn. ”
You cannot fail to be impressed by the warm and friendly atmosphere in the Junior School with its light and roomy learning and playing spaces and cutting edge technology – for example in the innovative 4D room. The welcome is equally warm in the Senior School, where outstanding facilities and teaching combine to inspire and encourage girls to achieve impressively, both academically and in a wide range of challenging extra-curricular activities.
“ Exciting and diverse opportunities to excel, stunning and extensive grounds and a passionate and dedicated teaching staff, supported by a strong leadership team, guarantees the girls’ success and enjoyment in their endeavours. Our girls are confident and compassionate; engaged and ambitious. Every one of them is understood for the person she is now and will become. She is supported through her challenges with exceptional pastoral care and her accomplishments are celebrated.” says Emma Pattison.
And, according to their Headmistress, it is the girls who make this school community unique. “The best way to understand what makes Croydon High different is to come and visit us and to meet the girls; they are the very best people to tell you more about their school and all they aim to achieve here.
