Bromley High School GDST

Set in leafy parkland and benefitting from first rate facilities, Bromley High School provides a beautiful and buzzy environment where bright girls flourish.

In the classroom, each girl’s intellectual potential is challenged and developed by inspirational teachers whose concern for your daughter ranges infinitely beyond her performance in examinations; teachers who have a capacity to develop a love of learning, a spirit of enquiry and an independence of mind.

Girls learn to collaborate and to compete; to be creative and intellectually curious and their learning is underpinned by the school’s ethos of achievement for all and by the subject passion, enthusiasm and expertise of their teachers.

The school’s outstanding teaching earned the rare accolade of an ‘Exceptional’ rating for Learning and Achievement from the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate. The school’s academic results are consistently excellent.

Achievement at A level in 2019 was 18% A*s, 51% A*/A and 81% A*-B. We are most proud of the school’s impressive Value Added results at GCSE and A level, which demonstrate the care taken to bring out the best in every girl.

Reflecting our 2018 award for ‘Best STEM provision in a UK School’, we are exceptionally proud of our outstanding provision and results in STEM subjects.

However, outstanding success at Bromley High School is not purely academic. Bromley High girls are resilient and well-rounded young women participating with enthusiasm and commitment in Music, Drama, Sport, Duke of Edinburgh and an overabundant range of activities – and where they have interest or talent or enthusiasm, it is nurtured so that they learn to excel. Sport is exceptional: with 25 acres of top class facilities.

In hockey, our U16 team reached the National Hockey Finals in 2020 and was placed 3rd in the country. In swimming we were 2019 Public Schools’ Freestyle & Relay Champions in the National Bath & Otter Cup as well as Female Swimming Champions in the 2019 London Youth Games. In netball, we were the 2019 U12 Netball Champions in the London Youth Games.

Our pastoral care is thoughtful and developmental, actively encouraging girls to develop key attributes: Confidence, Composure, Courage, Compassion and Commitment. Every class takes on the responsibility of supporting its own individual charity and the school has a highly valued tradition of volunteering and charitable activity.
