Pipers Corner School

Here at Pipers, we provide an inspiring environment in which each student is encouraged to discover themself and maximise their potential.

We pride ourselves in getting to know each student as an individual and identify, develop and support their talents and strengths. We provide an environment where personal development is as important as academic success, and every student is stretched as much outside as inside the classroom. Supported by inspiring staff who utilise exceptional and flexible approaches that cater for a wide ability range.

Girls aged 4-7 begin their education in the secure and welcoming surroundings of Woodlands, a self-contained area tucked away in a quiet part of our campus. Here girls learn in a happy and stimulating environment. As well as promoting academic achievement, there is great emphasis on the importance of nurturing personal and social development.

Girls aged 7-11 continue their education in the Prep Department. Girls settle quickly and soon become familiar with their new surroundings. Guided by their Form Tutors they are introduced to a broad and challenging programme of study as they expand their learning and experience increased independence. They are taught by a core team of teachers, and also by staff in the Senior School, who are dedicated specialists in their fields. This serves to ensure continuity when they are at the point of transition from Prep to the Senior School.

As well as flourishing academically, girls also have the opportunity to take part in a diverse range of clubs and activities, which has long been central to life at Pipers and has a vital part to play in the development of each girls as a well-rounded individual. With a wide selection of lunch-time and after-school clubs and activities to choose from, girls in the Prep Department are encouraged to discover their own interests in areas such as sport, technology, outdoor pursuits, performing and creative arts.

As girls move into Year 7 they face greater challenges and responsibilities, not only academically but also on a social level. At Pipers we endeavour to provide the very best opportunities for personal growth and success. We are committed to small class sizes which ensure individual attention as girls are encouraged to be active rather than passive learners. Our aim is to inspire all girls to realise just what they themselves can achieve. Supported by our hugely dedicated teaching staff, girls become independent learners. We hold self-confidence, critical thinking and research skills to be vital steps in this process. Our teachers nurture and guide, but we know our girls need to learn how to discover the world around them individually and independently.

The Sixth Form at Pipers Corner, with its enthusiasm for life and learning, provides the ideal finale to each girl’s school career. Girls are actively encouraged to push the boundaries of the curriculum and develop and expand their interest in their chosen subjects as they strive to fulfil their academic potential.
