Upper Sixth students Lara and Isabella achieved exceptional scores in the UK University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT), placing both of these aspiring medical students in the top 10% of applicants nationwide.
Both students performed comfortably above the 9th decile threshold of 2250, achieving high scores in the cognitive test as well as earning a Band 1 in the Situational Judgement Test (SJT), a top-tier distinction awarded to just 15% of candidates nationally this year.
The UCAT is an important element of the medical school application process which assesses mental abilities, critical thinking, and professional attitude. To support pupils through this competitive journey, Farnborough Hill’s Sixth Form provides tailored preparation, including UCAT training sessions, additional mocks and practice content, and hands-on Clinical Skills Clubs.
Commenting on the students’ success, Mrs Pippa Sutton, Head of Sixth Form, said:
“We are extremely proud of both girls for these outstanding results. Gaining entry into medical school is exceptionally competitive, which is why we have established our dedicated UCAT coaching framework to build our students’ clinical knowledge, test technique, and confidence. Achieving top decile results alongside Band 1 in SJT reflects their incredible commitment.”
With their UCAS applications for entry into top medical schools across the UK well underway, Lara and Isabella continue to be supported by the School’s Sixth Form team as they take the next step towards reading Medicine.
