Lila picks up Gold, Silver & Bronze at National Schools Equestrian Championships

26 October 2018

Late October saw the National Schools Equestrian Association’s Championships take place at Keysoe Equestrian Centre in Bedfordshire.

In addition to the St Mary’s Calne team who participated, Lila Bremner (Year 11) had qualified for the 1.10 Individual Championship finals on both of her ponies. Lila’s young pony, Lappi, produced a fantastic round to finish in 2nd place – just 0.2 seconds behind the winner.

Lila then went on to win the hotly contested 1.20 Elite Class on Foxy Lady, with Lappi also finishing in 3rd place, gaining her a full complement of medals at the event!

Lila’s mother commented:

The NSEA Championships bring together the top two riders from each of the 2018 qualifiers, so we were thrilled with the result. Lila loves competing for St Mary’s and we’re lucky that the school is so supportive of her passion for riding and all the training and competitions that involves. Not to mention the hours in the lorry and cleaning out stables!”
